  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts , chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking dish and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter.
  4. In your mixer’s bowl, cream brown sugar and eggs until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add melted butter to the brown sugar mixture; mix just until combined.
  6. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Using a wooden spoon, mix the flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture; mix just until combined. .
  8. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  9. Pour mixture into previously prepared baking pan.
  10. Bake for 45 minutes.
  11. Remove from oven and completely cool before cutting.
